McGrath North’s Recruiting Committee annually conducts fall and spring on-campus interviews at Creighton University, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Iowa. We also continually conduct office interviews with interested and qualified candidates from law schools throughout the nation.

Our success in recruiting and in the firm’s law clerk program is illustrated by the fact that many of the firm’s attorneys started at McGrath North through our summer associate program.
The Goal. The goal of McGrath North’s summer associate program is for summer associates to experience first-hand, high-quality substantive legal work in a wide array of practice areas and to identify and develop summer associates to someday join the McGrath North team as associate attorneys.
How We Do It. During the summer associate program, summer associates are matched up with supervising attorneys and mentors that personally invest in the summer associate’s development and help guide them through the program. The program focuses on providing summer associates with experience through interesting and challenging hands-on work in a variety of practice areas in an environment that encourages feedback, responsibility, and individuality. McGrath North maintains an “open door” policy and summer associates are encouraged to network and ask questions from attorneys about the firm and specific projects.
McGrath North also holds several social events throughout the summer to give summer associates an opportunity to interact with the attorneys in the firm and learn about the firm’s culture. The firm additionally participates in community service projects during the summer to serve the Omaha community.
Your Future. The primary goal of our summer associate program is to identify and develop law students to someday join the McGrath North team as associate attorneys. Most of the partners at McGrath North started at the firm through our summer associate program and it continues to be an essential role in the firm’s growth and primary source of new attorneys.
